Thursday 18th August: Windscreen, waterfalls and walking

Pre heading out for the trails we need to try to sort out the windshield. Hertz roadside assistance operator tried to be helpful but was actually no help at all so we take ourselves off down town to the auto glass shop for some advice. Although they can replace the screen it would not be until Monday earliest and we are then back on the road to next stop, however the very helpful owner tells us how much the replacement charge will be but she advised us to leave it until we are nearly back to Vancouver as it is very likely we will get another crack/chip !! Oh thanks !!! She also said the only Hertz rental office was now in Vancouver, the local ones having closed down.....enough of this let's get out and see some sights
First stop in Wells Gray Provincial Park is Spahats Falls which are just a 5 minute easy walk from the car park. It even has proper flushing toilets and not the usual drop !!
The Falls are in a high wide gorge,

Fantastic views across the valley

Tall narrow falls that appear to come from a cave but in fact it is a very narrow gorge

Next stop is on further into the Park at Moul Falls. This time it is a 3 km/45 minute walk each way. The first part of the trail is vehicle width as it is shared farm and parkland, hence we come across this little chap and his mother

No you can't have my nut !!

Moul Falls, the last half of the trail was the usual rocks and tree roots and then a very very steep bank and then steep steps down to the actual falls which are quite spectacular, well worth the walk

I tired to capture the height of the final descent but not sure it has come out that well

You can walk behind these falls, in fact look closely and you can see a chap just about to do that. We have walked behind falls before and this one looked a bit wet and slippery !!!!

Another good day despite the windshield.........
